The North Aisle Roof did have its problems with rot but as expected the South Aisle Roof, particularly at the Lady Chapel end, was in a very poor condition.
A structural engineer was called in to inspect and advise on the wall plate, purlins and pole plate. These have now been restored and the timber treatments have been completed.
On both the North and South Aisle Roofs an allowance was made for 21sqms of plaster to be removed from each wall. This allowance has been used up in the main body of the Church and it is now likely that the Lady Chapel will have to remain without plaster on the walls until the next phase of work commences due to lack of funds

This has now been completed.
The Sanctuary roof will have to done at a later date because of the cost of protecting the East window whilst work is in progress.
At the same time it is hoped that the plaster to the North Aisle and Lady Chapel walls will be replaced
